Educational Support

Sorry there are no jobs for this sector at present, please check back regularly, or register to receive job alerts. In Barnet, we believe in a first-class education for all. That means providing a rich learning culture that values diversity and promotes inclusion. We're proud of our 117 schools, which have developed to meet the diverse social, cultural and religious needs of the borough's children.

Learning Support Assistants (LSA)

Some children, especially those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN), need extra help to achieve their full potential.  Learning support assistants fulfil this need by working with individuals and small groups of children under the direction of a qualified teacher.

Teaching Assistants

Either working with individual pupils or assisting a teacher with the management of the whole class, teaching assistants often focus on literacy and numeracy and the support of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN).

Teachers

Bring your experience in teaching at primary or secondary level to Barnet and we'll reward you with stimulating opportunities in well-supported schools and outstanding opportunities for professional development.

For information on training as a teacher, visit the Teacher Training Agency's website: www.teach.gov.uk or call their information line on 0845 6000 991.

Safer Recruitment
We are committed to the protection of children. All applicants will be interviewed in line with our safer recruitment policy and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced CRB check.
